Knight Monsters Defenseman Samuel Mayer Called Up to Henderson

STATELINE, NV – The Tahoe Knight Monsters, proud ECHL Affiliate of the NHL’s Vegas Golden Knights and the AHL’s Henderson Silver Knights, announced today that defenseman Samuel Mayer has been called up to the Henderson Silver Knights. 

 

Mayer has played in 50 games this season for the Knight Monsters and has posted 12 goals and 17 assists for 29 points. His 12 goals are tied for second in the ECHL amongst defensemen. 

 

Mayer has also skated in four games for Henderson this season. Mayer began his pro career last season with Tahoe, where he skated in three games and racked up 21 penalty minutes. 

 

Currently on a contract with Henderson, Mayer played in the Ontario Hockey League for the Peterborough Petes and Ottawa 67’s before joining the Knight Monsters. 

 

The Knight Monsters return home on Friday, March 27, 2026, to take on the Rapid City Rush for Marvel Knight at Tahoe Blue Event Center. Puck drop is at 7:00 pm, with pregame coverage on the Knight Monsters broadcast network beginning at 6:50 pm.
