STATELINE, NV – The Tahoe Knight Monsters, proud ECHL Affiliate of the NHL’s Vegas Golden Knights and the AHL’s Henderson Silver Knights, fell to the Rapid City Rush by a score of 6-3.
In the first period, Blake Bennett got the Rush on the board to make it 1-0 Rapid City, but Devon Paliani would respond for the Knight Monsters on the power play to tie the game at 1. However, just 49 seconds after Paliani’s goal, Cameron Buhl regained the lead for Rapid City, and the Rush took a 2-1 lead into the first intermission.
In the second, Ryan Chyzowski extended his goal-scoring lead for Rapid City with his 19th of the season to give the Rush a 3-1 lead, but Jake McGrew would bury a loose rebound in front of the crease before the period ended to make it 3-2 Rush heading into the final 20.
In the final frame, Buhl made it 4-2 with his second of the game. Luke Adam would respond with a 5-on-3 goal to cut the lead back down to 1, but Briley Wood and Quinn Olson scored late tallies for Rapid City to push them to a 6-3 victory.
The Knight Monsters return to action on Saturday, February 14, as they take on the Rapid City Rush again. Puck drop is at 6:05 pm PT, and pregame on the Knight Monsters broadcast network starts at 5:55 pm PT.
