STATELINE, NV – The Tahoe Knight Monsters, proud ECHL Affiliate of the NHL’s Vegas Golden Knights and the AHL’s Henderson Silver Knights, were swept in a two-game series by the Rapid City Rush 6-3.
In the first period, it was all Rapid City, as Ryan Wagner, Chaz Smedsrud, and Cameron Buhl all found the back of the net to give the Rush a 3-0 lead heading into the first intermission.
In the middle period, Blake Bennett extended the Rush's lead with a goal of his own, making it 4-0. Later in the frame, Tahoe mounted a comeback. Devon Paliani scored his team-leading 23rd goal to make it 4-1, and Casey Bailey added a short-handed goal to head into the third period down 4-2.
In the third, Luke Adam scored in the opening five minutes to make it a one-goal game, but near the halfway point of the frame, Bennett would score his second of the night to put Rapid City back up 5-3, and Ryan Chyzowski would snipe one into the empty net to give Rapid City a 6-3 victory on Valentine’s Day.
The Knight Monsters return home on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, to take on the Idaho Steelheads for All Abilities Knight at Tahoe Blue Event Center.
